Insieme per Camminare, hereafter IpC, is a no profit and cultural association composed by experts in art and cultural heritage, licensed tour guides, teachers and project managers with relevant experience in the education sector. The aim of IpC is to promote the cultural development, the active citizenship and the youth entrepreneurship through the creation of real opportunities for educational and professional development using various models and opportunities. In this regard, IpC:
• Ease access to art, education and tourism of disadvantaged people thus to reach their full social inclusion;
• Carry out training courses to Italian and foreign students;
• Support sustainable and responsible tourism able to foster territorial, economic and social development;
• Promote the intercultural dialogue between youth encouraging their participation to European initiatives;
• Stimulate the active citizenship through the implementation and the dissemination of good practices;
• Encourage the youth entrepreneurship through workshops and seminars;
• Cooperate with private and public institutions for sponsoring and organizing educational, cultural and touristic events and activities.
Aware of the importance of dialogue and the need to establish relationships
at every level, IpC has signed agreements and a close partnership with:
• Museums and international networks: in order to develop multiplayer events and promotional strategies.
• Schools and libraries: to develop training courses, traineeships, internships and organize cultural meetings.
• Public Institutions at national level: for a better development and promotion of the cultural heritage.
• Local associations and cooperatives: to foster the economic, cultural and social growth of the territory.
• Tour operators: to offer sustainable cultural, natural and tourist services in different languages.
Thanks to the experience and the expertise of its staff, IpC has become a point of reference on the territory for young people, educational Institutions, public authorities and enterprises for cultural activities, touristic development and educational training, coaching youth and adults through stages/internships, workshops and courses. IpC activities are also supported by active volunteers of different age and educational background who regularly contribute to the managing of events and the surveillance of some cultural sites in the area of Rossano.
Concerning the cultural field, IpC manages the “Museo Diocesano e del Codex”, a museum famous as guarding the “Codex Purpureus Rossanensis” the oldest illuminated evangeliary in the world awarded by the UNESCO as world heritage and inscribed in the “memory of the world” list in 2015. In 2017, the Museum has been inserted in the top ten museum in Italy by ICOM (International Council of Museums) for its networking and educational activities while the well-known Italian newspaper “Il Corriere della Sera”, acknowledged the Museum as one of the best diocesan museum in Italy.
